Tomas Breddam became the Mayor of Roskilde Municipality on 8 August 2019 and he is a member of the Social Democratic Party.
Prior to this, he was a City Councillor and the chairman of the Planning and Engineering Committee in the municipality. Before becoming a politician, Breddam studied at the University of Roskilde and worked as an HR consultant and partner at several different companies.
Breddam was born on 26 January 1971 and raised in Karlslunde, Greve Municipality. His father was an active municipal politician for the Social Democrats and the chairman of the Social Affairs Committee. Breddam believes that this undoubtedly influenced him to become a politician.
The Mayor is married to Dorte Wenøe Breddam and they share three children: Frida, Jeppe, and Esben.
