Gradonačelnik Mato Franković potpisao je ugovor s tvrtkom koja će projektirati budući dom
Novi Dom za starije i nemoćne gradit će se u neposrednoj blizini Opće bolnice Dubrovnik. Predviđeni kapacitet zgrade dozvolit će da se u domu stalno smjesti oko 200 osoba starije životne dobi, dok će maksimalni broj dnevnih korisnika biti 75.
Projekt budućeg Doma jedan je od ključnih kapitalnih projekata Grada Dubrovnika. Planovi za gradnju doma na istoj lokaciji stari su skoro 30 godina.
Autor idejnog projekta je arhitekt Tin Sven Franić, profesor na Arhitektonskom fakultetu u Zagrebu. On je posvetio posebnu pažnju prostorima za dnevne korisnike gdje će biti dovoljno mjesta za odmor i društvene aktivnosti.
Štićenici budućeg Doma imat će priliku koristiti restoran, liječničku ordinaciju te prostore za fizikalnu terapiju. Zgrada će biti opremljena i knjižnicom, kafe barom kao i dvoranom za više namjena. Dio zemljišta predviđen je za šetalište, a prema idejnom projektu dom će imati i krovne vrtove te terase sa sunčalištima.
Prema informacijama koje je gradska uprava objavila pri prvom predstavljanju idejnog projekta prošle godine, Dom će imati 3 paviljona, a ukupna površina zgrade će iznositi 11 tisuća kvadratnih metara. Zamisao je da pokretni korisnici Doma budu smješteni po standardu hotela, dok će drugi dio zgrade pružiti pojačanu njegu i bit će sličniji bolnici. Međutim, autor idejnog projekta Tin Sven Franić najavio je ambiciju da korisnici dožive zgradu kao svoj dom te da ambijent ne bude odbojan za umirovljenike.
Predviđeno je da će gradnja započeti u 2021. godini. Ugovor o pružanju projektantskih usluga koji je gradonačelnik Mato Franković potpisao ima ukupnu vrijednost od 1 336 250 kuna.
Prema procjenama, gradnja novog Doma za starije i nemoćne koštat će između 100 i 120 milijuna kuna. Pri potpisivanju ugovora gradska uprava najavila je da će projekt zadovoljiti dio potreba za smještaj umirovljenika u gradu te da društvena infrastruktura ostaje prioritet za Grad Dubrovnik. Prema tome, najavljeno je također da će od sljedeće godine započeti i gradnja Doma za starije i nemoćne u postojećem Hotelu Gruž.
