In the context of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Informal Summit of Heads of State or Government of the European Union will take place tomorrow, 9th May, 2019, in Sibiu. The event will be held at the City Hall of the Romanian city, as announced on the official website of the Romanian Presidency.
The event will be hosted by Klaus Werner Iohannis, President of Romania and chaired by Donald Tusk, President of the European Council. The Informal Summit will be attended by the Heads of State or Government of the European Union, the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, and the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani. There will be simultaneous translation in Romanian, English and French.
Sibiu is a city in Transylvania, Romania with a population of 147,245, located 275 kilometres north-west from Bucharest. It is capital of Sibiu County. In the period between 1692-1791 and 1849–65 Sibiu was the capital of the Principality of Transylvania. Sibiu is one of the most important cultural centres of Romania and it was the European Capital of Culture in 2007, together with the city of Luxembourg.
