Christmas lights in an Italian village lit up from space

Italian astronaut Paolo Nespoli sent the signal

The Italian town of Gubbio set up a very special Christmas tree this year. It is composed entirely of lights and located on Monte Ingino south slope right next to the village. This is now the largest Christmas tree in the world but what is really spacial about it is that it was lit up from space.

Italian astronaut Paolo Nespoli sent the signal to light up the tree. It was made by more than 50 volunteers, working with 460 lights and about 8,500-meter-long cable.
