The Campus Advisor, an online platform specializing in collecting the opinions of university and college students to create rankings about matters relevant to the world of higher education, has published its classification of the best student cities in Europe in 2024.
The fresh ranking, published today, reveals that the best city to pursue your degree and lead a memorable student life in the Old Continent is Prague.
The Czech capital merited this top position thanks to its blend of safety, affordability, and vibrant culture. The ranking reveals that Prague’s consistent performance across categories like cost of living, safety, and fun activities sets it apart from other global student cities.
Plus, its convenient geographical location in the heart of Europe makes it a great spot for short trips during the holidays when students want to clear their heads from exams.
According to the ranking, the second-best city for students is Germany’s Heidelberg, which has long had the reputation of a classic student city with long traditions and history in that regard. It even outranks Prague in certain parameters such as academic environment, cultural diversity and public transport.
Third comes Galway, in Ireland, which probably only gets low points due to the bad weather. Otherwise, it is very comfortable and picturesque due to its small size.
The fourth best city for students in Europe is the Hungarian capital, Budapest. It scores high in nightlife and safety, plus its cost of living is pretty reasonable.
The top 5 is rounded off by Granada (Spain). Students love it for its laid-back lifestyle and the rich culture and traditions that form the Spanish South.
The Campus Advisor rankings are based on reviews submitted within the past year, with Campus Advisor collecting 17,000 reviews from students globally.
