It seems that almost every day there are news about pollution of one form or another. In the sea there are many kinds of pollution such as rubbish, oil and chemicals. Searching for possible solutions to the sea pollution from land-based sources, the Croatian Environmental Protection and Energy Minister met with his counterparts from Albania and Montenegro. The ministers agreed on the need to strengthen cooperation in line with existing agreements and initiatives as well as to apply for European Union funds and other sources such as the Global Environment Fund, for project financing.
With this triple alliance, Croatia aims to technically assist Albania and Montenegro through sharing information via the European Commission’s TAIEX program and so helping them with the see waste management legislation. The next two meetings are scheduled in Zagreb (in April) and in Albania (in June).
