“EuroVelo 6” is one of the world’s longest cycle routes
One of the world’s longest cycle routes crosses ten countries from the Atlantic to the Black Sea. This giant eco-trail hugs some of the continent’s main waterways – the Loire Valley in France, Constanza Lake in Switzerland, Germany and Austria, and the Danube Delta in Romania. It crosses capitals like Vienna, Budapest and Belgrade.
The cycle route is called “EuroVelo 6” and it covers more than 3500 km. It combines dedicated bike paths with routes on low-traffic roads. But “EuroVelo 6” is not the only one long-distance cycle routes being laid out across Europe. There are 14 others. From 2020 they will span more than 70 000 km to explore by bicycle.
