The beautiful Old Town attracts visitors from all over the world

The Bulgarian city of Sozopol is located on a scenic bay along the southern sea coast, near to Burgas. It is one of the oldest on the Black Sea Coast and one of the most popular seaside resorts of Bulgaria. Sozopol is divided into the Old Town and a modern section. The romantic atmosphere of the beautiful Old Town attracts visitors from all over the world every summer.

The Old Town appeals with its romantic atmosphere, thanks to its narrow cobbled streets and venerable old houses. It was declared a museum-reserve by Ministerial Decree in 1974. Sozopol’s modern section is filled with hotels, restaurants, and other interesting must visit places. There are many kinds of accommodation available, from luxury hotels to small family hotels, guest houses and bungalows.

The most attractive tourist destinations of Sozopol are the Archeological museum and Art gallery. The biggest events in Sozopol are The Apollonia Festival and the July Celebration. Sozopol has two beaches, the central one and Harmani Beach. A variety of sports activities could be practiced at the city’s beaches, including jet skiing, surfing, beach volleyball, boating, and fishing.
