Slovenia’s most popular high-end food market is coming to the city this Saturday
The Open Kitchen (Odprta kuhna) is a food market where food lovers can experience the delights of freshly cooked food prepared by different Slovenian chefs right there in front of them. Each Friday, Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana is turning into a mecca for foodies from 10 am to 9 pm. The market features around thirty different food providers, including modern restaurants, tourist farms, and independent chefs wanting to promote their offerings.
The event became so popular that it was named by The Guardian as one of the best street-food markets in the world and because of it the BBC placed Ljubljana as the third of this year’s Top 10 Destinations for foodies list.
On Saturday, March 30, Open Kitchen is heading to Celje to open the fifth season of culinary Saturdays. These events traditionally bring numerous foodies to the city market. Each stall serves something completely different and the grand total is more than 60 dishes. From 10 am to 8 pm people of Celje and travelers will have the chance to walk among the stalls at Mestna tržnica Celje and the Savinova street and let the traditional Slovenian goodies, international hits, street food stars and refreshing drinks to tempt them.
