This will promote the exchange of know-how and good practices
On 25 February, the Danish Municipality of Furesø’s reported that it is teaming up with its business community to launch ‘climate partnerships’. The municipality explained the role of these partnerships, revealing that they will help accelerate the green transition of companies and bring Furesø closer to achieving its climate goals.
Deputy Chairman of Furesø’s Business Contact Committee, Mogens Brusgaard, commented on the new idea, noting that it will allow all companies in Furesø Municipality to become climate partners. Taking this further, he shared that they will also be able to benefit from the knowledge of a “climate detective” who will establish connections between the different climate partners, help execute ideas, and promote the exchange of good practices.
In addition, this body will help individual companies keep their costs low whilst promoting the green transition. As the ultimate goal of the climate partnerships will be to exchange know-how that will benefit all partners, companies will share their experiences when they succeed in optimising energy.
According to the Chairman of the Business Contact Committee. Ole Bondo Christensen, the climate partnerships will bring the municipality closer to achieving climate neutrality before the end of the decade. Expanding on this, he stressed that Furesø needs the help and contribution of its business community in order to meet these goals.
“The beauty of this model for climate partnerships is that the individual company can use it where it makes the most sense. It would be great if we could establish a common platform where we can share knowledge. Climate partnerships have the potential to be the model that the administration will use in relation to the business community’s efforts to achieve Furesø’s 2030 goal, and it is a model that we can implement so that it supports our many other efforts,” Christensen shared.
