The Croatian city purchased products from local farmers and then gifted them to 500 citizens
On Good Friday (15 April), the Mayor of Opatija Fernando Kirigin and Deputy Mayor Kristina Đukić met citizens outside the Opatija market. Having purchased products from the stalls of local farmers, the Croatian city put together and distributed 500 special packages for the Easter holidays.
“Restrictions related to the COVID pandemic have been lifted and we could hardly wait to reach out and shake hands with our fellow citizens and talk to them. For the occasion of the Easter holidays, we distributed packages from Radnik [a local bakery] and radishes and spring onions that we purchased from local traders at Opatija’s Market. We are glad that the citizens liked the gifts and praised the selection of special holiday packages,” shared Mayor Kirigin.
