Hamburg introduces 'Waste Watchers'

They fight against tipping on the streets and squares of the city

Hamburg has fought tipping on the streets and squares of the city and sent "Waste Watchers" on the streets. The cleanliness of Hamburg is a central goal of the city cleaning. To achieve this, the municipality takes various measures. The positions of “Waste Watcher” is one of them. Immediate help in terms of cleanliness - that is the task of the "Waste Watcher". They will take care of the cleanliness of Hamburg and thus also the quality of life of the citizens.

Waste separation is serious business in Hamburg. Separating organic, paper, glass, plastic and metal waste, and properly disposing of electronic and hazardous waste is heavily encouraged by the city of Hamburg. Collection fees only apply to black non-recyclable and green biowaste bins, while the use of the blue paper bin, the yellow recyclables bin and the bottle banks is free.
