The activity is part of UrbanWINS, an EU-funded project that aims at developing and testing methods for designing and implementing eco-innovative strategic plans for waste prevention and management in eight pilot cities
This is the question Cremona (Italy), Leiria (Portugal) and Sabadell (Spain) will answer at the upcoming UrbanWINS webinar, organised by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability – taking place next Tuesday 12th March, from 11 to 12.30.
The activity is part of UrbanWINS, an EU-funded project that aims at developing and testing methods for designing and implementing eco-innovative strategic plans for waste prevention and management in eight pilot cities: Cremona, Albano Laziale, Pomezia and Torino (Italy); Leiria (Portugal); Bucharest (Romania), and Manresa and Sabadell (Spain). Among their initiatives, the three speakers at the webinar have decided to tackle food waste.
Cremona is implementing a last minute market for recovered and donated food surpluses and expiring products. Leiria is developing a guide for food waste reduction addressing restaurants, canteens, bars, catering services and citizens. Sabadell is hosting a programme of activities to raise awareness on the topic.
The network FoodWIN will also join as a speaker at the webinar to present their view on the importance of fighting food waste from a city perspective.
Registration and participation in the webinar are free. To read the full programme, visit here. To register to the webinar, go here.
