Old payphones in Denmark to disappear

Old payphones in Denmark to disappear

3000 of the old phones still worked just some ten years ago

Some ten years ago, over 3000 payphones were still working and used on Danish streets. By 2010 there remained about 500 and now they are expected to disappear completely from the streets of Danish cities.

Aarhus already removed the telephones from their boxes in the beginning of December this year. The first public phones were introduced in Copenhagen in 1896.
