The areas which face problems should be prioritized
The City Council of Paphos reported that more than 1 million euros will be spent to repair the city’s pavements in the coming years. The repairs started two years ago and are accompanied by roadworks and the construction of new sidewalks.
According to the local government, the allocated funds are not enough to repair all the pavements in the city, so its main goal is to improve the situation to the greatest possible extent, especially in the areas that face the biggest problems. These areas should be prioritized. The renovation is set to move beyond the historical and the commercial centre of the city as it was recently renovated. However, the situation in communities outside the city centre is quite bad. During the past two years, the municipality has allocated more than 500,000 euros to do asphalt works in the city and the hard work will continue in the coming years.
