The forum will bring together local and regional authorities from the EU, Africa, Asia/Pacific, and Latin America
The forum will be held online on 29-30 November
The seventh edition of the forum “Cities and Regions for International Partnerships” will take place on 29 and 30 November this year. Organised by both the European Committee of the Regions and the European Commission (Directorate General for International Partnerships), this forum seeks to create a space for dialogue and to foster cooperation.
More specifically, it aims to bring together local and regional authorities from the European Union, Africa, Asia/Pacific, and Latin America. For this reason, the forum will be held in three languages: English, French, and Spanish. Taking this further, it will take place entirely online.
This year, the forum will address two main issues that currently concern all nations: Green and Sustainable Recovery and Participatory Citizenship and Good Governance. Beyond this, the participants will discuss the local use of digital opportunities as well as inclusivity (i.e., inter-gender, inter-generational, and inter-cultural relations).
The digital forum will consist of multiple workshops, allowing local and regional representatives to lead discussions, network, and establish connections with authorities from other geographical areas. Therefore, as its name suggests, the November event will promote international partnerships and strengthen cooperation.
Those who are interested in participating in the seventh edition of the “Cities and Regions for International Partnerships” forum must register online by 25 November.
What is more, they can also propose sub-topics for discussion and submit their ideas to the forum’s organisers by filling out a form online. The deadline for submitting proposals is 17 November.
