SIMPLA is an EU-funded project, that supports local authorities in sustainable integrated planning
European project targeting small and medium-sized municipalities provides a four-step programme aiming to teach them harmonised planning. Through specialized training and coaching sessions, based on a comprehensive methodology developed at transnational level, the project sets the objectives to lead to the joint development of sustainable energy and mobility plans.
SIMPLA offers guidelines including digital (through the SIMPLA’s online observatory) and practical recommendations, templates, international case studies and easily replicable energy-saving packages dedicated to local authorities, which shall support them enhance their strategic planning capacities. Custom-made in-class training up to 50 hours and 6 webinars are prepared for the purpose, most of which accessible online.
Experts’ support to develop harmonised plans will be offered to local authorities in selected countries for additional 80 hours of coaching, covering among others – searching for funding opportunities. The training materials available online are in Bulgarian, German, Spanish, Croatian, Italian and Romanian.
SIMPLA cities develop harmonised SEAPs* and SUMPs** making them greener and smarter. Joint planning makes the most of synergies, triggers considerable environmental benefits and paves the way to decongestion, improved energy efficiency and better quality of life for citizens.
