The main session of the conference is called “Climate Change in the Mediterranean and the Middle East: Challenges & Solutions"
Τhe Cyprus Institute will host the International Conference “Climate Change in the Mediterranean and the Middle East: Challenges and Solutions”. The Conference will be held in Nicosia, Cyprus, with main sessions on the 18th and 19th of May 2018, and with pre-conference workshops on the 16th and 17th of May. The overall goal would be to launch a “Nicosia Declaration” regarding the scientific basis of Climate Change in the region, including the high-level propositions for mitigation/adaptation strategies.
The conference is organized under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, and with support from the Representation of the European Commission in Cyprus. There are three thematic areas included in the program – Mitigation and Adaptation Solutions; Climate Change and Pollution: Weather Extremes, Health Impacts, Migration and Security; Energy, Water and Sustainability.
