Energy@school is active in 41 schools across several central European countries

Energy saving is one of the news subjects in 41 schools across several central European countries. An EU Education programme trains “energy guardians” to stop energy waste. The total budget of the programme is just over 2.5 million euros, 2.1 million of that financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Energy@school aims to increase the capacity of the public sector for implementing energy smart schools. The integrated approach to educating and training schools staff and pupils to become Senior and Junior Energy Guardians, is much more than just specific measures and theoretical courses. It's also about raising awareness. Junior Energy Guardians teams have been created in order to make students aware of the role energy plays in their own lives. Senior Energy Guardians engaged students to lead energy cultural campaigns and contest connected with saving energy at school.
