Unemployment in Denmark continues to fall, with latest figures showing the lowest proportion of people out of work for nine years. The unemployment rate at the moment is 4,8% with an average of 7,1% for the members of the European Union. According to the employment minister, in order to keep up the momentum of the economic upturn, it is vital that companies are able to obtain the labor that they need.

It is absurd that business have thousands of unfilled jobs while 107,000 capable jobseekers are without work contracts. For this to be changed, the government has set aside 92 million kroner so that workers can upgrade their qualifications in fields where there is an especially high demand.
