The Batobus is a hop-on-hop-off tour boat that visits all the major iconic spots of central Paris
One of the most impressive boats during the Olympic Games opening ceremony river parade was the LEGO Batobus, a vessel designed with the colours of the famous company and made to look as if it’s made from toy building blocks. The great news is that anyone visiting the French capital this summer can hitch a ride on the LEGO Batobus.
Initially, its run was supposed to end on 16 September, however, following some technical difficulties, the LEGO boat will return on 19 August and will run until 30 September.
The Batobus fleet (a portmanteau of the words “bateau” (boat) and “bus”) is one of the various tours available to tourists who wish to explore Paris through its only water avenue – the Seine. These boats are known as bateaux mouches (fly boats) in the French capital and they offer a great and serene way to do some sightseeing without dealing with the hustle and bustle of the Parisian streets and traffic.
What will make the LEGO-themed boat different from the other ones, apart from the obvious eye-catching design, is that it has been set up in a way to mesmerize LEGO enthusiasts from all over the world.
To welcome you there will be a human-sized LEGO minifigure as captain. On board, there will be incredible LEGO reproductions, such as the Eiffel Tower.
Passengers will also get the chance to learn the Braille alphabet via an introductory activity using Braille LEGO bricks. Last but not least, on board you’ll have the chance to win a host of surprises and gifts from the brand, including LEGO passports and postcards.
