Visitors will soon have to buy an entry ticket to Rome's Pantheon

From May 2018 visitors will have to pay to enter the temple

Italian Ministry of Culture announced recently that starting May 2018, visitors to the Pantheon in Rome will have to pay an entry ticket for the sum of 2 euros. The high maintenance costs of the Pantheon called for the introduction of a small entry fee.

The genrated amounts will be used for maintenance, protection and security. Just last year, the Pantheon was visited by nearly eight million people. The Pantheon was one of the just few sites in Rome without an entry fee.
