The first fund in Ireland to support charities and social enterprises working for improved economic mobility of women
The Women of Ireland Fund (Mná na hÉireann), worth 1.8 million euro, created by the Social Innovation Fund Ireland, in cooperation with the Bank of America and the Department of Rural and Community Development is now accepting applications. All philanthropic funds collected by the Social Innovation Fund Ireland will be matched by the Department of Rural and Community Development, via the Dormant Accounts Fund.
What is particularly innovative about the Women of Ireland Fund is that it is the first in the country to support charities and social enterprises which work towards improving the economic mobility perspectives for women. Moreover, it is especially designed to equip such organizations with capabilities to expand their business, trigger development and extend their influence across Ireland.
On this occasion, the City Council of Galway encourages local organizations, working for empowering women and women’s education and progress towards sustainable employment to apply for funding. For the upcoming 3-years period, the Fund has set the following objectives:
The amount of grants provided varies between €50,000 - €100,000 annually and is accompanied, among others, by a number of expert business supports. The deadline for applications is 18th April 2019.
