Mayor of Pazin is Renato Krulčić. He was born in Pazin on June 1, 1970. After completing his education in Croatia and Slovenia, Mr Krulčić became involved in politics in 1992.
Since 1993 he has been a member of the Istrian Democratic Assembly (Istarski demokratski sabor-IDS). From 2000 to 2009, Mr. Krulčić was employed in the Municipality of Gračišće as the head of the Administrative Department.
He began his more active involvement in the public life of the city of Pazin as president of the city council in 2005, and since 2006 he has been a member of the city government and deputy mayor. He took full responsibility of the city in 2009 and his success was reaffirmed after winning another mandate in the 2017 local elections.
His second biggest passion is the production of quality Istrian wines and liquors and he is the winner of many medals (Gold Medal 2010. World of Malvasia - Vinistra). In his free time, he likes to read, travel, play football and tennis.
He is fluent in English, Italian and Slovenian.
