CURRENT MAYOR

Aristide Olivier

Aristide Olivier (1981, Caen) comes from a professional background in sports, and more specifically tennis.  He was President of the Caen Tennis Club and also created the Caen Open tournament with a view to making the city of William the Conqueror better known as a tennis hot spot.

Before becoming the mayor of Caen, Aristide Olivier worked as a teacher at the Lyautey primary school in the city. He first attempted to enter the local city council in 2008 but failed to be elected. Eventually, he made it and in 2014 became a councillor and deputy mayor of sports in the Normandy city.

He was a deputy mayor for a decade before being elected to assume the highest office in Caen in July 2024.
