Luke Farrugia has been the mayor of Marsa since June 2024. He represents the Labour Party of Malta (PL). He is one of the youngest mayors to have held office in the history of the island country.

Born and raised in Marsa, I was elected for the first time as Mayor back in 1994 when the Local Councils where established and I have occupied this post almost uninterrupted for the past 25 years up to this date.
I have always represented the Malta Labour Party which is represented in the European Parliament as part of the Party of European Socialists (PES).
