Dr Piotr Grzymowicz is a graduate of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Agriculture and Technology in Olsztyn and the Interdepartmental Pedagogical College. Doctor of Technical Sciences. Professional, social activist, academic lecturer.
In 2001-2007, he was the deputy mayor of the City of Olsztyn. President (Mayor) of Olsztyn since 2009. Until he was elected to this position, he was a lecturer at the Faculty of Geodesy, Spatial Engineering and Construction at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. He was elected six times as a councilor of the Olsztyn City Council: 1998–2002, 2002–2006, 2006–2010, 2010–2014, 2014–2018, 2018–2023.
During the presidency of Piotr Grzymowicz, a number of important investments were implemented in Olsztyn: tram communication was restored, the shores of Lake Ukiel, the most beautiful Olsztyn parks were revitalized, the "Aquasfera" Water Recreation and Sports Center was opened, and tens of kilometers of Olsztyn streets were built and modernized.
For his activities, Piotr Grzymowicz was honored with the title of the "Leader of the Self-Government 2016" by the Rzeczpospolita daily. He is also the winner of the "Golden Ten" of the rankings of the "Pearls of the Self-Government 2017" and the "Pearls of the Self-Government 2019" prepared by the "Gazeta Prawna" daily.
Married. He has three sons and three grandchildren.
