Mayor of Bardejov is Boris Hanuščak. He was born on 27th October 1955 in Bardejov. In 1981 he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Pavol Jozef Šafárik in Košice. He holds Certifications second level from the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Medicine. He was director of the District hospital in Bardejov. He is also married with two children.
From 1990 until 1998 Hanuščak was Member of the municipal council of Bardejov and a councillor in the period 1997-98. He has served as mayor of Bardejov since he was first elected in 1999. Hanuščak is a Member of the Council of the Union of Towns and Municipalities of Slovakia since 1999 and has also served as a Member of Parliament of the Prešov self-governing region since 2001.
