Ambitious long-term strategies are central to achieving the Paris Agreement goals and preventing some of the worst impacts of climate change. The clean energy transition will be key, and achieving these climate objectives will require contributions from every part of the economy – industry, business, farming and forestry – and from every individual citizens as well. This stakeholder event provides an opportunity for discussion on a long-term EU strategy for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and building a modern, clean economy.
The European Commission is organising a 2-day stakeholder event in Brussels on 10-11 July for up to 1000 participants, bringing together a broad range of stakeholders from business, research and civil society. Hosted by Miguel Arias Cañete, Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy, the event will offer an opportunity for discussions that will then feed in to the Commission’s deliberations for the strategy. The Conference will take place at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), 42 Avenue Franklin Roosevelt, 1050 Brussels.
