Horizon Impact Award 2020 is currently accepting applications

Have you implemented a project under the European Programme Horizon 2020? Do you feel like your initiative has made a difference? If yes, then you stand strong chances of winning a valuable recognition. Apply now to win the Horizon Impact Award 2020.

EU-funded projects that matter

Initiated by the European Commission, the award wants to celebrate exceptional projects that have used their results to provide value for society. It wants to demonstrate far-reaching socio-economic benefits of investment in research and innovation provided by the European Union. Furthermore, the award wants to create role models and inspire other beneficiaries of research and innovation funding to maximise the impact of their research.

Last year’s winners have come up with a new drug for a rare disease, helped prevent child abuse, improved the security of web browsing and protected coastal areas against the effects of climate change.

Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, said about the award that

“With this award, we want to highlight how EU-funded research can benefit citizens and society. We will put the spotlight on projects that have impact on the economy, environment or policymaking. I look forward to seeing many excellent examples of how EU-funded research makes a difference to our daily lives.”
