Belgium fails to meet goal of pollution reduction plan

Emissions are actually increasing

Belgium failed to meet its goal of reducing greenhouse emissions. Reports sent to the Euroepan Commission confirm that there is no decrease in harmful gases in the country in 2018. After many consecutive years of decrease, 2018 was marked by an increase.

It is not industrial emissions that pollute the environment in Belgium, though. It is housing, offices, agricultural, transport waste that cause this problem. Belgium's annual targets have been met for the past three years and this year's increase proves quite unexpected.
