Quali sono le sfide più grandi nel suo lavoro quotidiano come sindaco di Torino?
La mia più grande sfida è quella di migliorare la bella città di Torino e farla crescere, con tutte le difficoltà che ogni amministratore locale deve affrontare. Come una donna giovane, devo sempre fare di più per mettermi alla prova rispetto agli uomini. Tuttavia, le cose stanno cambiando piano piano. Il governo locale di Torino ha un alto numero di consiglieri femmine, selezionate per le loro competenze e non a causa di quote legali.
Che consiglio dareste alle donne giovani che vogliono avere successo nel loro lavoro?
Il mio consiglio alle donne e di studiare molto e di impegnarsi al massimo, perseguire i propri obiettivi e condividere le sfide. Suggerirei loro di non confrontarsi con gli altri e di rimanere sempre concentrati.
Ciò che è importante per me sono le relazioni con i più vicini, la mia famiglia, i miei amici, le persone che amo. A volte è difficile separare il lavoro dalla vita private, ma è il miglior regalo che puoi dare a te stesso e alle persone che ti circondano.
Come festeggia la Giornata internazionale della donna?
Il 3 marzo ho partecipato alla corsa "Just the Woman I Am", una gara in città che riunisce ogni anno moltissimi concorrenti in corsa per accomolare fondi per la ricerca scientifica. Spero che anche voi parteciperete l'anno prossimo!
