The shots will be available to every Bulgarian citizen and permanent resident, regardless of age
On 16 June 2021, a mobile vaccination hub will start operating on Sofia Airport and Prince Alexander I Battenberg square in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. The new facility is equipped with everything needed for the inoculation procedure and will be open from 9:00 to 18:00 every day. On weekdays it will be on Battenberg square and at the weekends – at Sofia Airport.
Mayor Yordanka Fandakova thanked “Charity and Mercy” – the foundation that donated the facility equipped with everything the Regional Health Authorities requires.
Even if you have the first dose, you can get the second and your vaccination certificate right here, according to the Ministry of Healthcare. Mayor Yordanka Fandakova posted to Facebook, that the city has enough vaccines and appealed to everyone to get a dose.
She said that there is a wide variety of vaccines available to satisfy people’s preference or their doctors’ recommendations.
She continued: “We must use the spring and the summer so that most people can get vaccinated. The bigger their percentage, the easier it will be to face autumn and winter without having to deal with a new wave of infections or social distancing measures.”
“Green Corridors” is an initiative of Sofia Municipality to increase the rate of vaccination and every location has the same rules – everyone gets the vaccine. There are now seven locations giving out shots during the weekend and most of them are positioned in parks.
These are “South Park”, “North Park”, “Knyaz Boris’ Garden”, park “Druzhba” and in the “Krasna Polyana” neighbourhood. In addition, vaccination facilities will open in two of Sofia’s shopping malls – “Paradise” and “Serdica”. This initiative is driven by the malls themselves and they will provide the space while the Regional Health Authorities will provide the staff.
