Denmark is well equipped to succeed in the global competition for growth and jobs
The study, from the IMD World Competitiveness Center, puts Denmark at number one when it comes to being digitally ready for the future. Despite Denmark’s impressive ranking, the study also sets off several alarm bells. Denmark is only 44th in the world when it comes to graduates in science, and only 18th when it comes to attracting foreign specialists. The study also shows that Denmark ranks only 46th in the world when it comes to listing IT companies.
Denmark is of course on top of the ranking of The Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) as well. This composite index summarizes relevant indicators on Europe’s digital performance and tracks the evolution of EU member states in digital competitiveness. The key findings are connectivity, human capital/digital skills, use of internet services by citizens, integration of digital technology by businesses, digital public services and research and development ITC.
