La Municipalité de Frisange accueille les visiteurs et les citoyens de la ville pour le traditionnel «Fairtrade Breakfast». Une large gamme de produits issus du commerce équitable seront disponibles gratuitement, tels que du café, thé, jus de fruit, confitures, miel, mais également des produits locaux comme du pain et du fromage. L’évènement va durer trois heures entre 9 et 12h le 25 Novembre 2018 et demande une inscription préliminaire. Le petit déjeuner sera accompagné par un petit marché fairtrade.
Le commerce équitable est nécessaire car le commerce international est une arène de concurrence féroce, surtout concernant les prix. Les producteurs du Sud sont généralement exclus des négociations et ne peuvent influencer à ces processus. À la cause du manque d’alternatives, ils sont forcés à vendre leur production à des prix très bas, afin de soutenir la vie. Le fairtrade est donc un partenariat commercial alternatif visant à atteindre plus d'équité dans le commerce international. Étant une stratégie de lutte efficace contre la pauvreté, le système a pour but d’améliorer la situation des producteurs et travailleurs défavorisés en Afrique, en Asie et en Amérique latine.
