Europe's premier technology accelerator program invites smart city innovators to help solve a key set of operational and societal challenges for the cities of Glasgow and London. These challenges will be designed by city leaders with the goal of identifying breakthrough solutions that enhance citizen wellbeing, improve operational efficiency and build more resourceful communities.
Glasgow Challenge is to improve travel choices and experience during events in the city while promoting the overall city centre offer and London’s Challenge – to enhance safety along river Thames. Applications are due on January 4, 2019. Between January 16 and March 6 there will be a development period and final evaluation and then in March the winners will be announced. The winning solution for each challenge will be featured in a global marketing campaign to more than 8000 of Itron’s city and utility customers worldwide. Winners will also have the opportunity to deploy their solution in a real-world environment.
