Kazimierz Dolny to become Poland’s smartest city

The project shows that it is possible to introduce the latest technologies into a city with historical character, making it even safer and more welcoming for residents and visitors

Deutsche Telekom’s subsidiary T-Mobile Poland will use innovative smart technologies to turn Kazimierz Dolny into the country’s first multifaceted smart city. The latest technologies will be introduced into a city with historical character, making it even safer and more welcoming for residents and visitors.This will serve as a showcase for future implementations across the country and also to widen Deutsche Telekom’s European footprint. The possibilities of smart services are nearly limitless.

The project involves 12 smart solutions. They are the following – A Traffic Information System, City Smart Parking Solution, An Air Quality Monitoring System, 40 smart cameras with video detection, Smart Lighting System, 40 Wi-Fi hotspots, 60 bikes and electric vehicles to complement public transport, 3 electric vehicle charging stations, smart bus shelters and benches, , digital screens displaying crucial information about the weather, points of interest, or, even, emergency situations, as well as relevant messages from the city administration, and last but not least the dashboard for the mayor of the city - tool for a comprehensive management of and reporting on the integrated smart city applications.
