The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland opened in January a call for applications in culture heritage management. Open until mid-March 2020, the call represents a great opportunity for local authorities and other interested parties to receive funding for their projects for restoration and revitalisation of cultural heritage sites, as well as to showcase how these can be used in an innovative way.

Targeted outputs

Funding aims to achieve the following two outputs:

  • Output 1.1.: Restored and revitalized cultural heritage sites that are listed on Register of Provincial Monument Protection Inspector;
  • and Output 1.2.: Supported innovative use of sites and buildings for cultural heritage for infrastructure not listed on the Register.

The total amount of funding available for the call is of EUR 60,170,588, for Output 1.1 EUR 46 600 588 and for Output 1.2 EUR 13 570 000.

Both outputs will finance obligatory hard measures (different for the two outputs) with up to 85% of the eligible costs and soft measures (including cultural and educational offer, promotion and trainings) with up to 25%. The call is open to public cultural institutions, state archives, public art schools and public arts universities, local governments, NGOs working in the field of culture, churches or religious associations and entities managing facilities individually entered on the UNESCO World Heritage List or recognized by the President of the Republic of Poland as Monuments of History.

Projects realized in partnerships with entities from Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, which are donor states for the program, are encouraged.

The deadline to submit applications is 16 March 2020. Find more information on the call on the website of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
