Redesigning the future in the new smart city tech hub in Amsterdam

B. Smart City Hub is set to open its doors in January 2019

Smart City Hub is the first step in the development of the "West Innovation District", now known as Riekerpolder. That’s part of a larger plan to transform the entire Schinkelkwartier, which spans the space between B. Amsterdam and the Olympic Stadion, into a new residential, recreational and work area for the city’s entrepreneurs that prioritises inclusivity, sustainability and innovation.

The Hub aims to give start-ups the chance to grow and scale-up in an affordable space. The 24 000 square metres hub is scheduled to open its doors in January 2019 and it is anticipated it will cater to mainly those in the waste, water, energy, logistics, smart storage, food and mobility sectors. The team hopes that the B. Smart City Hub will inspire other cities, large and small, to engage its entrepreneurs and harness that innovation for the benefit of a sustainable future.
