Mayor Paliaga congratulated all the citizens and visitors of the Istrian town
The Istrian town of Rovinj has been named the best tourist destination for 2019 at the big awards ceremony held on the final night of Croatian Tourism Days in Osijek, informed Croatiaweek.
The Croatian Tourism Days were held in five Slavonian counties and ended with the awards ceremony. This was the first time the annual Croatian conference of tourism professionals was held in Slavonia and was the 23rd time that the best of Croatian tourism awards, which was attended by the nation’s president and prime minister, were held.
The last time Rovinj won its biggest professional award was quite some time back in 2014, so there is no reason to doubt that in the past five years, a significant qualitative and quantitative step has been made by the beautiful town, which has been being witnessed year after year by its residents and from season to season by both local and foreign guests.
Marko Paliaga, Mayor of Rovinj excitedly announced ''I'd like to congratulate all of my fellow citizens on this award, tourism professionals and companies, craftsmen, and everyone who strives for Rovinj to continue to be the epitome of the best tourist destination in Croatia. I believe that Rovinj deservedly won this award and that will be an incentive for all of us to do more and do even better''.
The town of Rovinj has been at the top of Croatian tourism for years, not only by the number of overnight stays realised, but by the continuous increase in the quality of its offers to tourists.
