Thessaloniki gets ready for its metro launch in November
The underground rapid transit lines have been under construction for almost two decades due to various project delays
The new service is available 24 hours a day
New "eco-boxes" have arrived in the Italian town of Riccione, replacing the previous stations for separate waste collection. They can be used 24 hours a day and can be found at various strategic points of the city.
The eco-boxes have been positioned, as required by the local administration, at important transit junctures and are easily accessible from the four cardinal points of the city. The new containers can be found at the exit points from the Riccione area:
The types of waste collected include paper, plastic and cans, organic fraction and glass. To use the newly-placed boxes, just follow the instructions on the infographic placed in the individual delivery windows.
The new smart eco-islands are espeically convenient because they allow citizens to deliver separate waste even outside the collection days provided by the home service calendar. They are also the most beautiful and functional and boast characteristics that were agreed upon with the municipal administration.
The new containers are also of great use to families and are particularly useful for tourists who do not always have the opportunity to deposit their refuse on the days of collection of the door to door service.
For information on the new service or for reports, you can call the Hera Customer Service 800.999.500, a free number from the fixed and mobile network, active from Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 22.00 and on Saturdays from 8.00 to 18.00. Another possible way of communication is by downloading the "Il Rifiutologo" app, also available online at www.ilrifiutologo.it, now also integrated with Alexa, Amazon's artificial intelligence, from which it is also possible to ask for information on the door to door collection calendar.
