Spain hosts a major urban art exhibition for the environment

Eight Spanish cities will welcome an environmental awareness-raising exhibition of recycled glass

Starting this month, Spain will welcome one of the largest exhibitions of urban art dedicated to the protection of the environment. Themed around the recycling of glass, the unique immersive experience Ecomeninas is organised by Ecovidrio, in collaboration with the Junta de Andalucía and the Andalusian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FAMP).

Visit the city centres and be amazed by the authentic streets museums which seek to raise awareness and social sensitivity for sustainability and glass recycling. In addition, after its exhibition completes its run throughout Andalusia, the Ecomeninas will be auctioned off with the aim of donating the raised funds to charitable foundations.

Starting from Sevilla from 5 June to 19 July, the experience will continue in

  • Huelva – 25th June – 7th July
  • Cadiz – 16th July – 28th July
  • Malaga – 4th August – 15th August
  • Cordoba – 12th September – 26th September
  • Jaen – 2nd October – 13th October
  • Granada – 22nd October – 6th November
  • Almeria – 12th November – 24th November

The artists are Andalusian personalities, or people well-rooted in the community, who have created their sculpture with a vision for the environment. Each of the Ecomeninas contains a message, which can be designed with materials such as fiberglass or calcín (recycled glass). Discover how the authors connect the meaning of their work with the circle of recycling glass containers which is only made possible thanks to the commitment of citizens and their willingness to bring the packaging back to life.
