Student exchange programs in Germany to remedy the on-going East-West divide

Student exchange programs in Germany to remedy the on-going East-West divide

Almost 30 years after the reunification differences are still felt

Almost 30 years after Germany's East-West reunification, part of the population claims that some inequality is still felt throughout the country. One suggestion to heal the situation is to send students from one part to the other.

Left politician Helmut Holter believes students from the east should experience life and study in the west and the other way round. Unfortunately, Germany's eastern part is istill lagging behind. The country's on-going division has been a subject of dicussion, however, other political representatives believe that student exchange programs will not help heal the situation.
