8-11 October is all about the European regions and cities: 4 days, 170 sessions, 6000 participants
From 8th until 11th of October, some 6 000 participants and 600 speakers from all over Europe and beyond gather together in Brussels for a program of some 150 working sessions, exhibitions and networking events on regional and local development. Created in 2003, the event has become a European networking platform for experts in regional and local development. Exchange of good practices in economic development and social inclusion, cross-border cooperation, public-private partnerships, regional innovation and community-led local development have become some of its many topics.
Adapting its program every year to the specific context of the EU agenda, this year edition will be under the headline of “For a strong EU Cohesion Policy beyond 2020”. The 16th European Week of Regions and Cities will be a key platform where to gather and present the views of European regions and cities on both the budget and the legislative proposals related to Cohesion Policy and rural development, as well as discuss the future of Europe in a regional and local perspective.
