The Municipal Library Palácio das Galveias has more 220 seats, more 700 m2, study rooms with extended hours, a space for children, multipurpose rooms and work, with free access to the internet and a lounge area
The Galveias Palace, which houses one of Lisbon's earliest municipal libraries, is considered to be one of the most beautiful noble palaces in Lisbon of the 17th century. Today, on 5th of July, the municipal library celebrates its 87th anniversary. The library prepared a special program for its birthday. There will be storytelling for the kids, visit exhibitions, theater sessions, jazz concert, amateur choir group and even a birthday cake. Everyone is invited and the entrance on that day is free.
The Palácio Galveias municipal library was recently renovated and turns into a library of the XXI century, contemplating new spaces and attractive, welcoming and stimulating spaces for the whole community. Nowadays it has more 220 seats, more 700 m2, study rooms with extended hours, a space for children, multipurpose rooms and work, with free access to the internet and a lounge area.
