The municipal program for ecological education of adolescents includes 120 students from fourth to eighth grade
This year once again, the children of Razgrad will have the opportunity to have a very different summer vacation through the "Ekosummer" program. The official start of the initiative, organized by the Bulgarian Municipality of Razgrad and the Center for Student Technical and Scientific Creativity for the 23rd consecutive year was set on Monday, 6 July 2020.
The municipal programme for ecological education of adolescents covers 120 students from fourth to eighth grade, divided into groups in four shifts until the end of August. Some 32 children are registered to participate in the first shift.
Over the course of two weeks, their summer vacation will be transformed through enjoyable activities that will allow them to build new friendships. The program has been designed in accordance and is fully compliant with the requirements of the Regional Health Inspectorate due to the emergency epidemic situation in the country.
Although the Center has provided the necessary protective masks and gloves, students will not be able to take part in the cleaning of the gardens, as has been the case in previous years. Instead, this summer their activities will mainly include talks and presentations in the yard of the Center for Students.
There, the participants will discuss topics such as the harm of cigarettes, alcohol and drugs, road and pedestrian safety. Of course, children will also engage play a variety of games.
The Children's Safety Academy is the final element at the end of each shift of "Ekosummer". This year it will be held in the yard of the Center for Student Technical and Scientific Creativity.
The "Ekosummer" initiative is funded and organized by the municipality of Razgrad. During the official opening ceremony at the beginning of the week, the children were personally greeted by Deputy Mayor Milena Oreshkova. She encouraged them to participate with inspiration and to enrich their environmental education, as well as to have a fun and fruitful summer.
