The first expert meeting for Varna under the EUDIGIT project - European Digital Citizens, was held last week. It brought together experts from various fields to discuss and present online good practices in the field of digital youth inclusion and youth policies.
Principals and teachers from Varna secondary and vocational schools, representatives of youth NGOs and municipal educational experts discussed the implemented policies in the field of information technology, youth digital inequality and digital citizenship, as reported by live.varna.bg. During the online meeting, good practices from primary and secondary schools, Varna Municipality and different NGOs were presented.
The three initiatives that proved most popular during the meeting will be presented at the upcoming online international forum "Youth, digital divide and citizenship." The forum will be held on 25-26 February and will be hosted by the city of Varna. The meeting is the first event to take place in Varna, as part of the European project EUDIGIT - European Digital Citizens, coordinated by the city of Marseille (France). The cities of Varna (Bulgaria), Hamburg (Germany), Rotterdam (Netherlands), Genoa (Italy) and Cluj-Napoca (Romania) are partners in the project. The European portal for cities and citizens, TheMayor.EU is a media partner to the initiative.
The EUDigit project is funded by the Europe for Citizens Program and has three main objectives:
EUDIGIT previews the organization of discussion forums in the field of digital inequality among young people, the elderly and people with disabilities, the digital divide between rural and urban areas.
