The first “landscraper” in the world will be in London

Google is building its new headquarters in the UK capital

The construction of the revolutionary landscraper is planned to begin in 2018, Google's 11-story landscraper will cover 1 million square feet and 7,000 employees will work there. It will be longer than the tallest skyscraper in the UK, The Shard.

The building's architects call it a "landscraper," because it gains most of its size by stretching horizontally over land rather than vertically. One of the advantages of the innovative building    is related to the fact that in case of weather events like hurricanes, for example, which are becoming more and more frequent, it will become increasingly risky to build high-rises, which can sway several feet because of the extreme wind.
