A unique opportunity to experience the Middle Ages!
The Middeleeuws Festival is the most authentic medieval event in the Netherlands. With lots of attention to detail, you will be immediately transported back to the 13th century. Canons booming, knights charging, medieval banquets, and spectacular fireworks are just some of what visitors will experience. The festival is held in a very special setting - around the monastery in Ter Apel. During the whole event, the monastery is open and can be visited at no extra cost.
The best part is that the guest will be invited to actually become part of the festival. Visitors can participate in baking bread, doing some whitewashing, chopping wood or experience the medieval banquet on Saturday night or a special lunch on Sunday. Participating in the medieval banquet costs an additional 52.50 Euros per person and the medieval lunch 35 Euros per person and the prices include food, drinks and entertainment. Up to 50 people can eat along, so pre-booking is required.
