The 15th edition of the competition will grant 350,000 euros to three European cities that have removed barriers to accessibility on their territories
L’Horloge de Prague est de nouveau accessible pour les touristes après 9 mois de réparation
En Janvier l’horloge célèbre de la Vielle ville a été fermée pour réparation pour la première fois en 30 années. Elle a été complètement désassemblée et réparée dans un atelier spécialisé. Bien que la maintenance soit effectuée tous les 10 ans, l’horloge n’a pas été hors service pour si longtemps, depuis la Seconde Guerre mondiale, quand elle a été gravement endommagée. Heureusement, le monument a été rendu opérationnel plus tôt que prévu.
Le bâtiment de l’Hôtel de ville a été inauguré en 1338 en tant que siège de l’administration. L’horloge astronomique de Prague remonte au début 15ème siècle. Elle est placée sur la tour de l’Hôtel de ville en 1410 avec une chambre de pierre dédiée au mécanisme de l’horloge. L’horloge astronomique indique la direction du Soleil et de la Lune et est connue comme la plus vieille toujours en opération. Dotée d’un tableau astronomique, son élément le plus attrayant est le mécanisme des Douze apôtres en mouvement. Ils sont accompagnés par d’autres figures sur les côtés, comme celle de la Mort. À chaque heure des centaines de touristes se rendent aux alentours afin d’observer le spectacle curieux de la procession des douze Apôtres.
